Wow, what a summer and an amazing Eclipse to culminate it with.  No words will describe the power of gathering at Oregon Eclipse to celebrate this once in a lifetime event.
I prayed and set intentions with 70,000 people from all over the world while the sun went dark and then came back to light again. It was incredibly powerful. I broke open as tears welled up and gently streamed down my cheeks from the sheer magnitude of emotions surrounding me.

Chief Black Fox had changed my mind about being superstitious of the eclipse, and I’m glad he did! While helping me carry a heavy box, he explained his cultural beliefs surrounding this eclipse, and it sounded like something I wanted to share with him and his tribe. I had no idea he was the Chief until later!

This is where I feel inspired to put my energy now. SoozMusic will continue, and as a true Gemini I will work with, and as a Rising Nomad now, too. More to come on that later.

Meanwhile, SoozMusic is happy to welcome Barrio Manouche to the party! Barrio Manouche is an acoustic San Francisco-Based international Septet (Spain, Quebec, France, Brasil and California), playing music that will take you on a magical journey, frequently joined by artist from all over the globe.
This flamenco gypsy jazz ensemble has been recognized for its surprise concerts, innovative style, complex technique, and their passion for their musical improvisation. Check them out on the band page!

Puretone Resonate, Spain –

This was a launch party like no other!

I arrived at Space Mountain in the sleepy village of Albuñuelas, Spain on a hot, arid day in September. The home recording studio belonging to Youth sits atop the side of a massive breathtaking gorge that runs through the center of this region, reminding us of the power of nature.

I settled in for the week and awaited the arrival of Youth’s guests for our launching of Puretone Resonate Festival. As each guest arrived, the house awoke to the music of old friends reconnecting and eager excitement for the upcoming weekend. The energy grew each day until it literally exploded in a flurry of creativity from dawn to dusk and beyond. The boundaries of night and day melted into one as the music played ceaselessly flowing from indoors to outdoors and back again. Workshops set up in the living room, recording sessions in the studio, healers in the ‘hobbit’ rooms, chefs in the kitchen, gongs by the pool, stages below olive groves, chill spaces overlooking the canyon, the full moon peaked and the new moon rose, as the giant sized Lillu flags blew in the breeze!

I saw so many old friends from my days in London and made some wonderful new ones throughout the weekend. I even met the only other Sooz I know. Quite extraordinary, really to meet my namesake and similar kinda lady! Feels like a twin, and we had fun playing on that one!  I believe we will all be connected on a very special level because of this gathering. Our bond is now sealed in a way I can’t quite describe!

Thank you, Youth et al for a fabulous journey. I look forward to the next ~

Hey Y’all,

Dogon Lights are in town, Sebtown that is, and playing at Hopmonk Tavern in Sebastopol on Friday, April 22nd with LYNX, Feral Fauna and Sirens of Soul. That’s a pretty happening line up if you ask me!

Wow, I can’t believe the time has flown by so quickly and here we are in Spring again. I’ve been working on a couple of festivals out of state and out of country, and keeping my business as an Ayurvedic Practitioner going, too. Life, Weddings Galore & more!

I suppose SoozMusic has been a bit quiet lately! This is due to me taking a break from it all and traveling to visit family and old friends in Europe. The desire to connect with the people that know you since childhood is sometimes too strong to ignore.

It turned out to be a magical trip! I reconnected with my brother and sister like never before. All the old junk had somehow disappeared, and there was nothing but love and respect for them and some close friends who I hadn’t seen for years. The journey helped me find my way to ‘what’s next’ after experiencing empty nesting at home and the end of a long term relationship.

On returning home, I dove back into the healing arts, treating clients and friends as an Ayurvedic Therapist at the Dhyana Center. There’s nothing like serving the community with viable treatments for improved and sustainable good health.

I coordinated another wedding and decided to offer more of this work as they are such joyful events. Brides and Grooms most definitely need help with their big day!

I’m currently working on a NYE Ball (more to come soon), Gem & Jam Festival in Tucson, AZ, and Envision Festival in Costa Rica!

At this time of Thanksgiving, I’m grateful for life’s bounties in my little corner of the planet. My thoughts are for peace in the less restful places on earth. If I can help you or anyone you know with my service oriented offerings, please be in touch or pass this along.

As many of you know, my ‘other’ life is as a healer! When I’m not promoting and booking music, I’m working with people on their health and well-being. I’m a certified Ayurvedic Practitioner and Massage Therapist. Ayurveda has been around for about 5,000 years, and is one of the oldest holistic healing systems. It is based on the belief that health and wellness depend on a delicate balance between the mind, body, and spirit. The primary focus of Ayurvedic medicine is to promote good health, rather than fight disease.
