Summertime! ~ isn’t it supposed to be easy?….

A couple of weeks ago my post would have been much more elated than it is today! Thinking we’d turned the corner on the pandemic and were able to frolic about with each other on these glorious summer days, we’re stepping back a few paces and covering up again. That’s ok with me, but it does put a dampener on showing off our lovely smiles in public! On the other hand, I’m happy to still be smiling amidst all the chaos the world is going through right now.

In the midst of all this doom and gloom, there are pockets of safe gatherings happening with stellar live music to bring us a little cheer! I didn’t realize how much I’d missed listening to fingers playing strings, basses booming, the beating of a drum, and voices filling the air in harmony, as I danced barefoot on the grass and sipped on a glass of ice cold Rosé! The highlights were Thievery Corporation at Stern Grove, Ozomatli at Nevada City Fairgrounds and Free Peoples at Hopmonk Tavern.

On a side note, I want to send a big shout out to KC Turner for his relentless promotion and organization of up close and personal shows that he’s got lined up for the rest of the year at Hopmonk in Novato. He managed to keep live music alive and safe during the pandemic with back yard concerts in the most unlikely of places. Good on you, KC! I like you, too!

Life, Weddings Galore & more!

I suppose SoozMusic has been a bit quiet lately! This is due to me taking a break from it all and traveling to visit family and old friends in Europe. The desire to connect with the people that know you since childhood is sometimes too strong to ignore.

It turned out to be a magical trip! I reconnected with my brother and sister like never before. All the old junk had somehow disappeared, and there was nothing but love and respect for them and some close friends who I hadn’t seen for years. The journey helped me find my way to ‘what’s next’ after experiencing empty nesting at home and the end of a long term relationship.

On returning home, I dove back into the healing arts, treating clients and friends as an Ayurvedic Therapist at the Dhyana Center. There’s nothing like serving the community with viable treatments for improved and sustainable good health.

I coordinated another wedding and decided to offer more of this work as they are such joyful events. Brides and Grooms most definitely need help with their big day!

I’m currently working on a NYE Ball (more to come soon), Gem & Jam Festival in Tucson, AZ, and Envision Festival in Costa Rica!

At this time of Thanksgiving, I’m grateful for life’s bounties in my little corner of the planet. My thoughts are for peace in the less restful places on earth. If I can help you or anyone you know with my service oriented offerings, please be in touch or pass this along.

Sincerely & gratefully,

Sooz ~:)

Earth Day – Delhi 2 Dublin & Free Peoples!

It’s Earth Day, and what better way to spend it than in nature. After this post, I’ll turn off the computer and all electronics, and go for a walk. I want to feel the sunshine’s warm rays, smell the blossoms along the trail, and let a smile settle on my face.

There are a couple of great shows this weekend that I want to tell you about.

Delhi 2 Dublin are coming back our way and playing at Hopmonk in Sebastopol on Friday, April 24th. D2D have been making Sebastopol one of their tour spots for a few years now, and we want them to keep coming back, so, come on out and get onto the dance floor with this upbeat, fun, Bhangra and Celtic style band. See their tour poster below if you are not in the area and want to catch them somewhere else!

If you are in Truckee, then be sure to stop by Moody’s to hear Free Peoples on Friday, April 24th. If you miss them on Friday, then you can catch them on Saturday, April 25th at the same spot! Or go both nights!!

Free Peoples have been called “ Porch rock pros”, and their songwriting is” sophisticated with twists and turns that take the music several steps from the unexpected”.
